Taking Risks and Living on the Edge, Lechoker_ Case Study – Month 1:

Hey guys, welcome to my case study and get ready for a story.

About Me:

I’m a 25 years old law graduate from a reputable law school who lives in Turkey. Since the beginning of last year, I’ve been working on a consultant firm. I actually hated the place from the first day. I applied for other jobs, and nothing came up because the economy went into deep shit this summer.

I started to desperately look for options with little hope that I will find something to sustain my life other than my soul-sucking job. Then, a little over a month ago, I found affiliate marketing. Before that, I had no idea that it was possible to make with little to no capital.

After I read here that it was possible to make 1,000 Dollars in a year just by creating a website, my perspective about my life changed completely. Because it took me 25 years to get a 700 Dollars salary and I don’t even like it and also add to that bosses, office environment and colleagues with inflated egos.

I instantly decided that I should take a risk and go all in. Because even if I make 500 Dollars in three years, after those three years, I can definitely get by because I can live in cheap coasts of Turkey. Not to mention all of them are more beautiful than the dump with 20 million population that I currently live in.

First I figured, I needed to create some time to work on the website. Other than my job, I also have a graduate school. So, that was going to give me around 30 hours every week to work on the website, and I thought that is not enough.

So, yesterday, I quit my job and got a part-time gig instead. Also, I will freeze my registration this semester, and that will give me between 60-70 hours every week. Actually, if I’m disciplined, I can work around 70 hours every week consistently, and I’m disciplined.

I have zero experience in affiliate marketing, and I don’t care. English is not my main language, and I actually don’t care about that either. I don’t even think I’m taking a huge risk because this is a really prolific business for people in third world countries. Also, I can always go back to corporate slavery whenever I want.

Goals for This Case Study

My goal is to get to at least 400 Dollars as fast as possible. After that, I can move to a cheaper place and do this full time. After that, I’ll try to make as much as possible without getting obsessed about it.

If I manage to get to the 2,000-3,000 Dollars range, that is like really successful lawyer money with at least 8-9 years of experience here and 4,000+ Dollars is what partners in the best law firms in Turkey get. This is just absurd.

So, I’m going for the relative income. I’m going for the high currency. I’m going for the freedom I will get to travel the word and volunteer.

My Goals for Month 1:

My goal was to get through the first learning phase as fast as possible and start creating content. I did not set out any goals for word counts or anything.

What I Actually Did During Month 1

I should say that I have a little control of my patience sometimes and after I realized this is a ridiculously good opportunity for me and has a potential to change my life, my inability to control my patience has got on steroids.

I thought I needed a thing that will teach me the basics very fast. I lurked around here but this was very advanced stuff to me, and I couldn’t find a good resource. Then, I found FIMP and started watching the videos and did exactly what Ian did. (By the way, Ian is a genuine guy, I really suggest his course for beginners. He also has a Facebook group that he answers questions on.)

First, I found a niche. It is a competitive niche, but I know a lot about it, so I thought I will figure it out.

Then, I’ve got a domain, which is an expired one and I haven’t done any history check or anything because I did not know I had to. I hope it will be fine though.

Then, in order to get the course for completely free, I bought the hosting from Bluehost. I read people shitting on it a lot here but I thought I would figure it out later and also, Siteground did not accept my payment because I’m a poor fuck.

Then, I tried to find some keywords to write about using free keyword tools and wrote a couple of articles this way. However, I found them very time consuming and was not sure I was doing it right. Then, I said fuck it and got a LongTail Pro subscription and became even poorer. Was it worth it? Hell yeah.

Then, I thought I should get Grammarly Premium because I learned that Google cares about quality content and that made me go completely broke. Was it worth it? I don’t know but I’m not a native English speaker, and I need a second eye on my articles.

I wrote 15 posts amounting to 32,041 words this month. As for the quality, I think it can be way better, and it will be. Because, I felt like I was running against a clock until I quit my job and freeze my registration, so I tried to pump out as many words possible in little time. Now I have enough time to provide a lot of high-quality content.

Month 2 Goals:

I aim to spend at least 60 hours every week on the website this month. My goal is to create at least 70,000 words of really high-quality content. I also wouldn’t mind seeing some traffic to get my hopes up a little bit.

Thanks for reading guys. I will appreciate every input because as you can see, this is really important to me.

See you in 30 days!
